God’s Grace

Father God in the name of Jesus, we come humbly before your throne of grace thanking and praising you for the many blessings you have so graciously bestowed on my life and the lives of these your people. Father we thank you for the most important blessing the life and blood of your only Son… Jesus Christ. For we understand that without His sacrifice none of this would be possible for those gathered in this worship service including me.

Father as I have been learning of your prevenient grace these past few weeks, I have been reminded of the importance of standing strong in faith even in the mist of challenges and adversities. I have learned also the importance of your prevenient grace for the lives of all of humanity. Without the drawing of your Holy Spirit none could come to the saving knowledge of your Son Jesus Christ to humbly submit and receive His sacrifice for the remission of their sin.

Studying John Wesley has given us a new found fire for all things Christ Jesus, we have been constantly reminded of your loving kindness shown unto us and not only that but we have been shown the ways in which to live out our faith and beliefs so that in all we do you’ll get the glory and honor that is rightfully due your name.

We have seen and studied how Wesley wrestled with his theologies learning and growing in his own faith while challenging the faith and beliefs of others. We have understood that it is okay to miss the mark on somethings while being unwavering in others. Those challenges and adversities are how we grow not only in the knowledge of you but in the knowledge and understanding of who we are and who we can be in you. Though we do struggle and sometimes walk on uncertain grounds as long as we are walking with you are footing will always be firm and sound. Because you sustain us through your precious Son, as long as we are in Him and He in us there is no obstacle we can not overcome. Thank you, Jesus for the submitted life of John Wesley and the example that he’s left behind. Because of his consistent seeking and understanding of his faith this has given us the strength and courage to seek and understand our own. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus… Amen!
